How To Maintain Your Roof
One of the best ways to protect your home is to make sure the roof is in good condition as long as possible. Too many home owners take the roof for granted and expect it to outlast it’s normal lifespan. The good news is, it is possible to have your roof last years past its due date with proper maintenance.
In the Vancouver area there are many homes with moss and tree droppings on the roof. As roofing contractors we see roofs in deplorable condition every day because it’s our business. As a homeowner, you should know when the roof was installed or at least repaired the last time. Knowing the age and condition of your roof will alert you to possible problems before they become serious. If you are at all suspicious about the integrity of your roof take a few moments to climb up on a ladder and take a look. One of the most revealing things on a shingled roof is crumbling tiles. If the edges look ratty and you can see the shingle coating crumbling, then it could be time to repair your roof.
